Holiday update
So far the holidays have been pretty rewarding for me, especially after having completed one of the most stressing exams of my life although there are probably more challenging ones that are up ahead. For now however, I'll just take the time to slow down and smell the flowers. Excuse the cliche.
Ironically, I am unable to that literally at the moment because of the haze in Jakarta. Of course, this is not as bad as the one that is happening in Singapore due to wind direction and speed, but of course there is some of it here. This makes my exercise plan all the more complicating as now I am tasked with the issue of improving fitness levels without going outdoors at all, which is not so complicating at the moment as I live in an apartment with a gym. I see my physical capabilities slowly expanding, however it will be an issue when I visit Singapore this month as I don't have a gym provided for me and the ones offered to the public are privately owned and are charged at a price that I cannot stand to pay for. I'm sure many are suffering similar problems. Nothing is more painful to an athlete than to see their hard work decay into nothing as time goes on where you can do nothing about it.
This is what Singapore looks like at the moment
Other than that, I am struggling to finish my books that have begun to pile up over the study period. This is not aided by the fact that my time is taken more with games rather than in books. So far I am on the way to finishing all the games that have piled up over the holidays as well, which is no easy task as well. My father does want to get me a job, which I really abhor to doing; a holiday is a holiday after all.
I did do some physics research as well and I'm also covering the syllabus that I will be learning next semester (although minimal) so I might post some interesting facts on the blog as well. Look forward to it!
Cheers,
Matthew Tan
