Progress
I have pointed out that this year is one that is not filled with much joy, laughter and productivity than I had hoped, but when I think about the fact that my teenage years are gone and that I have made progress moving from one chapter of my life to the next, suddenly my life doesn't seem as wasted as I make it sound.
The decade from 10 to 19 years old is one of transformation. As I have stated many posts before, the transition was never an easy one, but it was a time when I started to realise things in the world, good and bad. I realised that in life there was never a black or white area but rather a grey area in between. I realised that many different interpretations of life should be accepted and never rejected, but it is through those interpretations that you come up with an interpretation of your own. I feel that if this fact was realised by many other people we would finally come to an understanding as a human race, although that wouldn't solve all of our world's problems of course. At least at a micro, person-to-person scale, it would help
But the decade from 20 to 29 is a different challenge. By now you should know where you stand as a person and it is time to move onto what you want others to think about you. It is the time period to decide your profession, get driving licences, degrees and for some, a marriage certificate, under your belt. It is time to start a family, start a career and time to start losing the weight that you put on after your metabolism has dropped significantly. Looking at my stomach at the moment, I do think that I would have some problem with the latter, now and in future cases.
I thank you all, new and old readers, for making it with me this far in my journey as I document it down little by little, and I do hope that you continue to follow me, through trying times when I find it hard to post, so that I can enjoy the good times with those who have stayed with me when things get better. I hope that by reading you can watch me grow into a person that I want to be and in the same process enable you to grow into a better person as well. We are making progress, little by little.
Cheers and Happy Anniversary,
Matthew Tan
