The American Elections 2012

I have to admit that the American Elections required a lot of research before making this post. The reason for this is basically because I have never lived in America to fully understand its impacts and have never really kept up with the elections through the media. As a teenager who is slowly integrating himself into a modern world, where everything is constantly changing, I have resolved to following this year's American Elections. Please do excuse me if I do make any mistakes as I have never really explained the concept of the American Elections to any individual before, or fully understand it myself until now.

In America, there are two main political parties. There are the Democrats. They are very liberal socially. This would mean that they would approve of gay marriages and many other things that are still being debated in the US. The other party are the Republicans. The Republicans are more conservative. However, they are not rejecting the political idea of liberalism. This makes me wonder if they are against or for gay marriages. However, because of the use of the word "conservative" I would assume that they are against gay marriages.

These parties then compete with each other for the place in the White House as the president of the United States. Therefore, Obama would have to fight for his place in the White House. Right now the Republican representatives are competing among themselves for the opportunity to challenge Obama himself. Republican candidates have being going around America, all trying to win over as many votes as possible with their promises for the future. Out of all the candidates, it seems to me that Mitt Romney is currently in the lead with many states already in his favour.

The elections continue at the current moment and the final candidate will face Obama in the late quarter of the year. Whatever the final outcome may be, I wish all candidates the best of luck and hope that America makes the right choice for its next president.
