Election Day 2012
I find it completely stupid of me to even think about blogging about anything else other than about the Elections, even though I only thought about it for a split second.
By the end of today, we will have the results of who will be our new president of the United States of America. Of course, this president will be the most powerful man alive on this planet at the current moment, albeit for the next four years. He will also, as quoted from my mother which I find correct, "The number 1 most targeted man". Taking up the role of the president is no easy task; one will have to consider economic trade-off's and reactions from other countries whenever establishing a new policy, as well as the potential danger that goes along with it. It is at times like these that I feel fortunate to be merely a fifteen year old boy (sixteen very soon) with no political influence whatsoever in this time of change and reform. Some countries are already hitting recession, and it is no doubt that the next president will have a lot of issues to deal with, mainly the high unemployment rate. Upon looking at the unemployment rate, I was not surprise to find it a little on the high side (7.8%). Preferably it should be around 5-6%; not an easy task. I still from time to time turn to look at the unemployment rate of Greece at the moment to have a little laugh and chuckle from time to time (25%) and pray that America will not fall into the same situation, although I highly doubt it. It still is the number one economy after all (with China quickly catching up).
Although I have no say in such elections, I must say that I can't help but support with Barack Obama and deeply wish for him to undergo his second term (How Bush had a second term I have no idea). I can't help but get enticed, as well as over half of America, by his charismatic behaviour and his patriotic attitude towards America. He has put America slowly on the road to recovery and, as stated by him, needs another term to finish off the job. I agree with the fact that America can't go back to the way it was, even though I doubt that Romney would go back to the way it was because it was obviously a failure.
Looking back at the presidential debates, I start to realise a few things about Romney and his strange habits, although my point of view is probably completely bias. I start to realise his lack of body language. Now this was something that was thought to almost all politicians and I keep wondering where his display of body language are. I see no form of dominance exerted by him but rather a shy appearance, which is probably not good for someone fighting for such a high throne. He also wishes to go back to many policies that were implemented by another president in some other period in time that has obviously failed, and I have no idea why it would work now. The laws of economics work the same way, no matter what the time period (easily debatable, so we can say to a certain extent) and I don't see how implementing a policy previously used would help the economy now.
Nevertheless I will wake up tomorrow and see the results, only to see this world change forever.
