For all those long time readers, there was an age long forgotten when I used to start my blog posts merely with a date without any foreshadowing of content. I think that as time goes on it is nice to merely chronicle time's passage across the universe without any need to talk about its highlights. It may be melancholy but so is how I feel at the current moment.
Chinese New Year has ended, and all the family members that I see once a year are gone again for another year, into the oblivion outside of my periphery. Life settles back into its normalcy, from the daily grind of my family as they go back to school, go back to work or other overseas trips. I remain the only outlier. And why should I not be? I felt like I have earned this rest for a very long time, yet I still strive to improve myself mentally as I write more, read more and watch more. I have three books that I have borrowed from the library, and today I can't wait to delve into them.
In my personal life, there are a few things that I am worried about, although I count myself very thankful that they are not very serious. At the moment they are my driving tests coming up, my trips overseas and trying to maintain a social life in a world where everybody seems to be busy with work or other post-ORD engagements. Luckily for me today my time has been occupied by one of my close platoonmates, who felt comfortable with me enough to spend the whole day not doing particularly much. We did things on the fly, and as such we watched The Post, and he followed me as I traveled through central Singapore to look for particular books at the library. It is at times like these that I feel graced to have such good friends that I can count on for company when R&R is required.
Anyway in short, as I would like the title of today's post to say; life goes on, and I'm happy to enjoy the journey with every day that passes. I do hope that every day would leave me feeling as tired and as happy as I feel today.
Cheers,
Matthew Tan
